The Adelaide Art Orchestra Inc. was founded by Artistic Director Timothy Sexton and concertmaster Carolyn Lam in late 2001 and its members are drawn from the ranks of the State's top professional freelance musicians. experience one of the finest Acoustical Concert Venues in Adelaide!
Elder Hall is one of Australia's finest concert halls, located in the heart of Adelaide in the grounds of the University of Adelaide facing onto North Terrace (celebrated boulevard of culture and learning).
The building is of historical significance and is registered by the National Trust. The foundation stone was laid in 1898 and was officially opened in 1900.
Elder Hall was completely refurbished in 1978, and again in 2006. In 1979 a spectacular organ built by Casavant Freres of Quebec was installed. Crafted in the French Classical tradition, the organ is regarded as one of the finest instruments in the country.
Elder Hall is home also to the distinguished Elder Conservatorium of Music - Australia's oldest tertiary music school, which has played a leading role in the musical life of the nation for more than 100 years.
