The Government of South Australia's Office for Recreation and Sport came to Katron Creative for assistance in the design and production of its publication titled Keeping Children Safe in Recreation and Sport.

The A5 size booklet provides essential information on the rights and responsibilities of adults and children as defined by recently updated child protection legislation. The target audience is people who volunteer with sporting and recreational organisations, and the children/young people who participate in those activities.

Produced in 2006 for the Grote Street Business Association, in conjunction with the South Australian Government Department of Further Education, Employment, Science & Technology and South Australia Police, this Safety Training CD was researched, scripted, designed and produced at
Katron Creative.

The product offers easy to follow Safety Training and Tips for businesses, both staff and management alike, through a selection of audio tracks to assist business reduce risks in the workplace, both for the business owners and their staff.

Available through the Grote Street Business Association (www.gsba.asn.au), topics covered include:-

Discouraging Shop-stealing and Robbery
Remember Code A (Calm : Obey : Description : Evidence : Alarm) - stay safe during armed robberies
Protecting merchandise from shop-stealers and opportunists

NEWS FLASH - 'Stay Safe' has won the prestigious 2006 Property Council of Australia 'Economic Development' Award in their 'Main Streets Town Centre' category.

Government of South Australia - Families SA, Childsafe Environments Training Manual and Materials

Developed for a train-the-trainer program, this package includes four elements:

General Guidelines booklet (suitable for widespread distribution)
Participant Workbook (for people undertaking training as Mandated Notifiers)
Trainer Activity Book (for people undertaking the train-the-trainer program)
CD ROM containing the 90 page Trainer Manual in a navigateable PDF format and a related 49 slide PowerPoint presentation.

This package enables participants in the train-the-trainer program to experience first hand the training program that they will go on to deliver to others, as well as resourcing them for their future training activities.

From Katron Creative's creative viewpoint, the project began with the illustration of a series of distinctive symbols that each deliver a clear message for Mandated Notifiers, and text editing / proofreading for clarity and accessibility of language.

The goal during the design process was the production of a series of linked documents that while clearly related, retained individual visual identities for ease of recognition.
