The City of Holdfast Bay, a metropolitan beachside council in Adelaide, South Australia, approached Katron Creative to develop a new corporate image for them at the time the council was formed through the mergers of the Cities of Glenelg and Brighton.
Initially, three distinctive logo designs were presented to Council for discussion, with their final choice being the logo displayed here on their corporate stationery.
In response to Council's creative brief, the imagery in the logo portrays a number of elements including : marine life (a dolphin); the coastal environment (blue ocean meets the sand); Aboriginal heritage (the style of the suns rays and the colours chosen); natural flora and their famous 'Old Gum Tree' at Glenelg (the shape of a gum leaf within the dolphin's body).
The smooth flowing curves of the logo were then incorporated into Council's full stationery suite, as well as further afield into all forms of the City of Holdfast Bay's signage, marketing materials and branding.

Adelaide, South Australia, based rooftop gutter guard installation company, Adelaide Gutter Mesh, sought a unique logo and stationery suite that would quickly illustrate the distinctive product they offer.
Adelaide Gutter Mesh's steel guttering protection system, allows leaves to easily blow off your roof, instead of collecting in gutters. Their quality product offers clients the benefits of better bushfire protection, clean rainwater, vermin proofing, increased safety (reducing frequency and need to climb on the roof) and longer lasting gutters to name but a few.
Katron Creative presented a graphical design which features the product’s steel mesh, with leaves easily tumbling off the side. Not only does this logo highlight the unique features of the company's product, it is also simple and economical to reproduce in many formats such as newspaper advertisements, their website (www.adelaideguttermesh.com.au), vehicle signage and personnel’s uniforms.
